StodelVeteran production exec Guy Stodel has been named president of production of Vendome Pictures as the company ramps up its slate. Reporting to prexy-CEO Philippe Rousselet and co-CEO Fabrice Gianfermi, Stodel will oversee development and production with the goal of putting out two to three films per year. Vendome produced "Source Code" and "Larry Crowne." Stodel has spent the last two years as an independent producer setting up several projects, including the American remake of French comedy "Le Mac" with Ed Helms starring. Stodel previously ran Paramount Vantage after being appointed exec VP of production and acquisitions in July 2008. He created a production slate, headed up acquisitions for the division and was responsible for the day-to-day operations -- including buying and developing the script "Man on a Ledge," due to be released by Summit Entertainment. Stodel also worked at New Line, where he served as senior VP of acquisitions and co-productions. During his tenure, New Line acquired distribution rights on "The Upside of Anger," "The Laws of Attraction" and "The Sea Inside" along with remake rights for Spanish thriller "The Orphanage." Stodel also forged a relationship at New Line with Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes by acquiring, developing and exec producing "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake along with exec producing the "Friday the 13th" remake. Stodel was also VP of acquisitions and co-productions for Lionsgate and oversaw "Lovely and Amazing," "Lantana" and "Bully." Contact Dave McNary at dave.mcnary@variety.com
